3rd Street Rehabilitation
Phase 1
Phase 1 of work to rehabilitate 13 historic properties in the downtown Leland, Mississippi Historic District was completed in 2024. Kudzu Collective designed replicated storefronts, created from historic photographs taken during the 1927 Flood for three contiguous buildings on 3rd Street. Historic Tax credits were utilized by the Owner, who has located boutique retail in the three spaces completed in Phase 1. Phase 2 is currently in the design phase. As with Phase 1, Kudzu Collective Architect Ryan Biles has designed new storefronts for three buildings that are architecturally compatible with the building’s period of significance. A mix of retail, wellness services, and a coffee shop are contemplated for these tenant spaces.
